My Summer of Truth— An Open Letter

My Summer of Truth— An Open Letter
Reading Time: < 1 minute

Earlier this year, in April 2021, I had the opportunity to participate in a symposium held by York University at Liminalities Online, which comprised many of my talented peers who I am so grateful to have met.

Liminalities: Derived from the Latin word “limen,” meaning “threshold,” liminality refers to space of change in-between.

My Summer of Truth— An Open Letter Precursor

My Summer of Truth— An Open Letter took almost a year to compose and is about accepting my identity as a person of colour. It is a piece that is extremely close to me and very vulnerable.

This piece has encouraged me to be my most authentic and unashamed self from its inception to publication. It is An Open Letter to myself, past friends and anyone who needs encouragement to start their journey of self-acceptance if they haven’t.

I hope this piece encourages and allows you to start your own journey of self-love and acceptance.
