Arrive at work at 7:58 A.M. sharp. Check. Count forty-seven steps to cubicle. Check. Arrange pens in their red-blue-black-green-purple order of importance. Check. Apply hand sanitizer before opening email. Double check.

And that’s just the first few minutes of her work day.

Thirty-one-year-old proofreader Bailey Mitchell is a slave to her tics. She inherited Obsessive Compulsive Disorder from her father, and it’s done nothing but inhibit her love life. She’s run the gamut of boyfriends—none of them willing or able to cope with her condition.

Enter 32-year-old Reece Powell, her new coworker at Beach Elite Marketing Firm. He’s more than willing to cope. He finds her habits cute and quirky… for now. Reece wins her over, and life coasts along for them until Bailey experiences a devastating blow. Tragedy exacerbates her OCD, and Reece realizes her tics aren’t so cute and quirky anymore. Just like all the others, he has the choice to leave.

But Reece isn’t like all the others.

Thoughts:  I loved it. It’s the first book by S. Walden that I’ve read and it was amazing. It was cute and heart-breaking and funny, boy was it funny and sexy; it was off the charts sexy.
When we think of OCD we think of quirky tics that some does, we find it endearing more often than not, but we don’t seem to realize that it’s an illness, a disorder that can’t be done away with by pills and rehab, but a life long journey. It was eye-opening to get that insight into what Bailey’s life is like and the life of her family and friend(s) that had to live with someone with OCD.
Reece makes me believe even more than I did before that there is someone out there for everyone, who else do you know gets turned on by having their SO perform a tic?
Soledad, the perfect neighbor, I sometimes wished that although Bailey didn’t know what she was saying, I would, and if it was in French and not Spanish I could definitely tell if Walden was just bullshitting all her lines, I doubt it (what I could understand seemed to fit with what was going on).

My favorite thing about this book was how realistic it was, not just Bailey’s OCD but her relationships with her dad and her mom and her sister, and more importantly Erica (reading their interactions reminded me of similar my interactions with my best friend). The way everyone spoke, it was stilted by writing it flowed, conversations, terms everything was written picture perfect, you could see frame by frame what was happening who was saying what. I knew Christopher was black before they even had to say anything! It was in his language and his mannerisms that Walden somehow managed to portray with dialogue (but thank you for telling us anyways!).

This is the first of Wilimington series, the others could be about Christopher or Camden or Taylor, lets not forget Erica’s new secret wielding employee. which I would love to read, I’ll be looking out for S. Walden because no matter the book I know I’ll pick up the next thing written by her, it was that good.
