REVIEW: The Wrong Billionaire’s Bed

Reading Time: 3 minutes

The Wrong Billionaire

Audrey Petty’s always been the responsible one. The good twin.  Successful, dependable, and trustworthy–that’s Audrey. She’d be the perfect girlfriend for her childhood crush, billionaire Cade Archer…except that she’s pretty sure she’s not even on his radar. But when fate (and her chaotic twin) come together, Audrey finds out that she’ll be spending the next month with Cade at his remote cabin retreat. It’s a dream come true…

Until she meets her worst nightmare.

Billionaire playboy Reese Durham is used to seducing women to get what he wants. But when stiff, too-proper Audrey bursts into the private mountain lodge and scares his companion out the door, it’s time for a little revenge. It’s clear that Audrey’s in love with his buddy, Cade…and it’s clear to Reese that blackmailing Audrey with this information can get her to agree to just about anything. Like furtive kisses in the dark, or a secret rendezvous in the woods. Audrey may think she knows what she wants, but Reese is determined to show her what she needs.

And as Reese discovers the volatile minx behind the buttoned-up exterior, he starts to think maybe she’s just what he needs, too.

Thoughts: This book isn’t even about the evil twin yet I found myself hating that she was in this story. So please excuse me for this well needed rant!
Daphne is mean and callous and frankly I don’t give two shits about her substance abuse problem. I don’t want to know why she started drugs and I don’t care that her pop star career is on the fritz, I just don’t care.

She embarrassed Gretchen and Hunter at his house party, showing up drunk (shame on Audrey for bringing her) she was loud, obnoxious, and she called sweet, fragile Hunter Quasimodo! That was not cool on so many levels.  I wanted to cut a bitch!
Cade needs to get over his stupid White Knight complex, wtf?! Why? Why!!!
How the heck is he in love with Daphne? Despite the fact that I think she loves him to, using him for sex to get to her druggie pills is not cool. That’s a huge hurdle she should have to jump before he trusts her again but with the way he is, he’ll probably roll over and beg for her
There was nothing more painful than seeing people pine after the wrong person, knowing that that person did not return the sentiment. If there was no spark or interest as a kid its highly unlikely that there would be one now, especially with so many people in the mix. A twin for crying out loud?! How the heck is that supposed to work?

Reese, oh sweet not-quite-but-almost-there-billionaire playboy Reese. What a breath of fresh air you were. Assessing the situation, blackmailing Audrey (although I wouldn’t classify this as BDSM, more french vanilla SM, but still hot and heavy sex) into a midnight tryst, getting the wicked out to play. I loved him, he was flirty and arrogant, and was so true to himself — he’s a manwhore he embraces that and I loved that he did.

Audrey was frustrating to say the least. I wanted to just smack her upside the head and tell her to get over it. But that’s not the way the world of romance works, there needs to be angst and shit.

I did LOVE when she laid into Daphne, that was a long time coming and do you know what the bitch did…overdose what kind of back door $%#^%%@^@&$** was that?!

GAH! I’m putting some serious thought into boycotting Cade and Daphne’s story. I really feel like they will end up together and I want NO part of that. I don’t want to feel sympathy for Daphne, I don’t want to feel understanding. I can’t stand these spineless characters! There isn’t even a traumatic childhood past that made her turn to drugs, I don’t care about anything else. An abusive husband, pressure to perform so she takes drugs, accidental addiction, I DON’T CARE! I don’t want to care.

P.S. Did I mention that these books are funny! I find myself bursting out loud with laughter in very inappropriate places.
