WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Samanneelizabeth over at Taking on a World of Words. It’s all about books we are Currently Reading, Just Finished Reading and Reading Next.
AND, WE ARE back with another WWW Wednesday! This Wednesday and most Wednesday’s from here on out will be a joint venture between Carmen and Sash. Hope you enjoy it!

I will withhold final judgments until I am finished reading Felix Ever After. So far I am impressed with Callender’s way with words, his MCs and side-characters are well-written, I’m interested in how Felix’s love turns out.
I realized that I had not read Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein before and if I did I do not remember. I know so much of her personal history and I’ve seen the movie Frankenstein but I’ve never read the book, smh. This is where I’m supposed to be grateful to required reading summer classes, we shall see.
Wordslut is an impressive piece of writing. I’ve barely scratched the surface of the book but I found myself drawn in before I even got to Chapter 1. My mind is going to be continually blown while reading this.
Hmmm, still reading The Chase. I haven’t picked up in quite some time. The story isn’t bad but it’s easily put-downable. I’ll finish eventually. Sadly, I most likely will not continue the series.
Carmen
Sash and I went to Indigo, while she got 7 volumes of a particular manhwa, but I picked up The Story of Sex: A Graphic History Through the Ages and boy is it graphic but it’s very educational. I like it a lot so far.
This second half of the summer, Sash and I are in two of the same classes so Frankenstein and Poe are required readings for those classes.
Recently Finished Reading
Sash
I recently read all seven volumes of the manhwa (comic) Hitorijime My Hero. I’m a sucker for all things yaoi or boys love (whichever version you choose). I watched the anime a while ago and found bits of the manhwa online but I needed more and boy did I get more. I can’t wait for the eighth volume coming out in November.
Reading Next
Carmen
I meant to start wordslut this weekend but I didn’t anticipate how busy I would be between camping and finishing exams for the first half of the semester.
Since Sash and I are in the same class we have to read Beloved next for Lit of the Fantastic.
Sash
The Portable Edgar Allan Poe is required reading for my Edgar Allan Poe class (that’s legit what it’s called). I’m pretty excited, he is the only poet whose poems resonated with me. I am not a poetry person, but Poe gets me.
Since this summer is jam-packed with required readings, I’m going to keep on the yaoi manhwa theme and read Here U Are as it gets uploaded, boys love manhwas are my happy place.
Immediately after I finish Frankenstein I have to get started on Toni Morrison’s Beloved. My respect for Morrison as a black writer knows no bounds, I’m happy to re-read this one.

July 1, 2020 at 16:47I’m really really curious about Felix Ever After! I need to get my hands on a copy, but in the meantime I grabbed It’s Kind of An Epic Love Story by the same author. It sounds so good as well. 😀 It’s good to hear people are enjoying Felix!
Here’s my WWW post!

July 1, 2020 at 16:53Yes! I totally did and really enjoyed it which is why I picked up The Chase without really reading the synopsis.
