This weeks theme is: Books That Give Off Summer Vibes
So the books that give off summer vibes for me are books that I love to either read in the summer or are fun to read in general. This summer will be filled with more books that are required readings but the following books are books that give off that distinct summer vibe feel.
This week I just have five. During the making of this list, I realized that my to be read list (TBR list) did not have a whole lot of variety … things you don’t realize until you have a book blog.
The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren, The Hating Game by Sally Thorne, and Douglas Adams’ The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy are all very humorous and light reads.
Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express is a classic whodunit mystery that kept me guessing and left me shocked. For me, whodunits are perfect for summer reading poolside or beachside.
The odd book out is A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness which gives off summer vibes because of the magical realism.
In the summer I find I read books that I can easily leave and then come back to. These books fit well into all summer activities, and because summer can be so short in Canada, I try to squeeze as many warm weather activities into it as possible. It’s one of the main reasons I gravitate to books that are quick and easy to pick up from where I left off.
